You will notice most of the evf. mods are CS. Unless they have an installer, like Soldiers With Attitude - Desert Dash, you will notice most CSMs consist of a Hellendoorn_00x file. To install, simply copy (or extract, if the map file is in a .zip file) to the following directory, which is default: C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 1942 Secret Weapons of WWII Demo\Mods\XPack2\Archives\bf1942\Levels\.

To uninstall, simply delete the .rfa file you extracted/copied to your game's directory.

This might not work for vista though. And if it doesn't, you're screwed.
Traptown, 3rd person mode and the anticheat all work on vista, but I'm not sure if its possible to run 3rd and TT at the same time.
