I know this is late, but formatting your hard drive and reinstalling your chipset, soundcard, graphics and other such drivers is actually a fairly good idea. It would also help remove some of the shit that is on your pc, like the gigabytes of temporary files and broken viruses.
I would do this, but I'm too lazy and stupid. xD
