We at evf. decided to host a cup since it's been years we haven't had any kind of event on the demo (the last serious tournament was in 2006, hosted by ESS.).

We chose Trap Town since it's just perfect for infantry action, which is what this tournament is all about.


So this is how it's going to work:

- 16 participants, divided in 8 groups, can participate. The groups for the round of 16 will be announced once all the participants have signed up.

- The cup wars will take place every Saturdays and Sundays, at 3:00 PM EST (Eastern Standard Time for North America). The schedule is up for debate, but I suggest we do it during the weekends since more people are available during that period generally.

- Round time limit is set to 30 minutes for all game modes. A sudden death round will follow in the event of a draw. All the duels of a stage should be done in one weekend, so the contestants can fight each other in the next stage the next weekend. Overall, the cup should take four weeks to complete (1 weekend for the round of 16, 1 weekend for the quarterfinals, 1 weekend for the semi-finals, 1 weekend for the finals, and during the same weekend, another match for the 3rd place).

- Wars in CTF or TDM, since most are unfamiliar with the Conquest version of the map. Vote in the poll for your favorite game mode.

- Pure infantry, meaning no nades, expacks, or Mauser k98 nades

- All contestants must have the Anticheat.exe, and Trap Town of course. If you don't have both of these, you can download them here and here.

- Servers should have the Free Cam enabled, short to extremely short spawn and respawn times, a password for all the participants (which will be PMed once everyone signed up), and slots for up to 8 people (contestants who wish to spectate are more than welcome, and if you want to film or shoutcast, you may do so). The evf. clan can provide a server, and a backup server would also be appreciated, just in case.

- Atleast one referee is needed. These referees need to take screenshots of the scores of the players at the end of the rounds, and compile the points to decide who won. I will be a referee.

- First come, first served

EDIT: (to avoid spam) ok ive found where to download traptown. whats the anti cheat thing? what does it do? also the time zones could be difficult but idk yet. I'd try hard to make it if someone could work out the times to GMT 12+ Wellington/Auckland time cheers

2ND EDIT: good news, i found traptown and downloaded it. i just went onto create game to have a look at it and it looks awesome! was a bit complicated for me since it was my first time there but if i was in a CW i could just stick with one of you guys right? is this clan war server up yet? cause when i go to multiplay all of the servers are hellendoorn and none traptown yet. So id just like a bit of noobs info lol. and yeah like i said before whats this anticheat.exe

First of all it's not a clanwar, it's a cup.

Second, Anticheat.exe is a neat little application made by Zoolander to prevent players to use cheats/hacks. It is required for all evf. member during events.

Cup has started, but with so many different timezones and the fact that we have stuff to do unlike real pro gamers, there are still players that need opponents.
